Emma Stone is a critically acclaimed American actress known for her versatile roles and impressive range. Born in Scottsdale, Arizona, on November 6, 1988, as Emily Jean Stone, she was drawn to acting from a young age.

Stone's career began in local theater productions and small TV roles before she landed her first feature film role in the comedy  Superbad in 2007. The film was a commercial success and introduced Stone to a wider audience. She followed this with roles in  The House Bunny (2008) and Zombieland  (2009), which helped to establish her as a rising star in Hollywood.

In 2010, Stone was cast as the lead in the high school comedy "Easy A, which was both a commercial and critical success. Her performance earned her a nomination for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. She then went on to star in  Crazy, Stupid, Love  (2011),  The Help  (2011), and  The Amazing Spider-Man (2012).

Stone's role in  The Help was particularly noteworthy, as she played Eugenia Skeeter Phelan, a white woman who helps African American maids tell their stories of working for white families in the 1960s. The film was a box office success and earned four Academy Award nominations, including a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Stone.

In 2014, Stone received critical acclaim for her performance in the dark comedy  Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. The film won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Stone earned her first Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.

Stone continued to impress audiences and critics with her roles in  La La Land (2016),  Battle of the Sexes  (2017), and  The Favourite  (2018).  La La Land, a musical romance film directed by Damien Chazelle, earned Stone her first Academy Award for Best Actress. Her performance as Mia, an aspiring actress in Los Angeles, was praised for its vulnerability and authenticity.

In  Battle of the Sexes,  Stone played tennis legend Billie Jean King in the story of her historic match against Bobby Riggs in 1973. The film tackled issues of gender inequality and homophobia, and Stone's performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

In  The Favourite, Stone played Abigail Masham, a young woman who becomes a lady-in-waiting to Queen Anne, played by Olivia Colman. The film was a critical and commercial success and earned Stone another Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Stone has also lent her voice to several animated films, including "The Croods" (2013), The Croods: A New Age  (2020), and  The Mitchells vs. the Machines" (2021).

Off-screen, Stone has been a vocal advocate for mental health and has spoken openly about her struggles with anxiety. She has also been involved in several charitable organizations, including the Stand Up to Cancer organization and the Child Mind Institute.

In 2021, it was announced that Stone will star in and executive produce the Netflix series  The Curse, which is described as a comedic take on a New England boarding school.
